We have been exploring conversion. We converted mm into cm; m into km; ml into L; g into kg and so on!
We first decided if the unit of measure was greater or smaller than the measure we were changing it into; we used our ant and eagle rhyme to decide if we should divide or multiply as modelled by Zara. If the measure is bigger than than the unit of measure it’s turning into then we must multiply; if it’s a smaller unit of measure and turning into a bigger measure then we divide.
Ruby shows how we used place value to multiply by powers of 10! We use the rhyme: left in time for the bus when multiplying and right to share when dividing.
Using our rhymes and concrete equipment, we were able to solve problems, crack clues and convert different units of measure!
