Today, Year One enjoyed their school trip to The Saddleworth Museum in Uppermill. We learned about our local history; The Rushcart festival and Ammon Wrigley’s life and work. We learned a local morris man dance, made flowered hats and looked at the rushcart model. We were able to touch some of Ammon Wrigley’s manuscripts whilst wearing special protective gloves. We listened to some of his poetry and identified some local dialect words. We explored the museum, finding out more information about his life and work.
