Using the expedition app on our iPads we took a trek through the Arctic yesterday! We discovered lots of different animals, walked through glaciers and travelled on a snow mobil. The children loved finding out what the ‘real’ Arctic was like and learnt lots more in the process.
Reception have been learning all about questions this morning and how question marks are used. We’ve been on a question mark hunt, searching for question words in text and even writing our own questions relating to our topic – The Arctic!
Forest fun was great this week. We got our wellies and waterproofs on and went to learn in the puddles. We followed running water, looked at the drains and where the water might go and why it ran down slopes. We even had so much enjoyment from squelching in the mud and jumping in the […]
🚀 Reception had the chance to see exactly what an astronaut might get to see this week. They used an app on the Ipads that enabled them to feel as though they were inside a real life space station. They explored each different room and then had the opportunity to look through the windows to […]
In the modern technological era, it can be difficult to know how best to ensure our children are safe and confident online. With this in mind Digiworld have come up with a fantastic website to build these skills in a fun and interactive way. Digiworld is a curriculum designed to help children, aged between 5 […]
Reception have worked extremely hard throughout today to create beautiful drawings and paintings to honour Remembrance Day. We’ve also created 100 Poppies to commemorate 100 years since WW1 ended. We’re extremely proud of the enthusiasm, interest and sensitivity the children have shown whilst doing these activities. Well done Reception!
We had a fantastic day on Wednesday at Smithills Farm. The children got the opportunity to meet, feed and handle lots of animals and learnt lots about how a farm is ran, including how cows are milked. Thank you to our wonderful mum/dad/grandparent helpers for your support on the day. We hope you enjoyed it […]
Reception have enjoyed their first session of Bikeability. They have learnt how to safely navigate a balance bike over ramps, through cones and around bends. They’ve all shown they are brilliant Tryatops and have shown a great attitude to a new skill.
This afternoon we released our newly emerged Butterflies out into the schools peace garden. The children have watched them grow from tiny eggs to caterpillars to cocoons. Everyone got a closer look before we let them go. 🦋
Our reception class spent the day yesterday exploring nature and learning how plants grow. They’ve managed to take some beautiful photographs from around the school grounds and have enjoyed taking their own photos.
