On Tuesday 11th February, the whole school took part in SID 2020. The theme this year was #freetobeme where child could express themselves through an avatar. They could draw themselves however they wished, put needed to explain their choices.

In English, we have been extending our vocabulary by learning lots of new alternative adjectives. We’ve then used ‘The Zone of Relevance’ to sort the adjectives and use them to describe Mr Grinling the lighthouse keeper.
In Year 2 we have been sorting and classifying everyday materials. We then went on to carry out a fair test to investigate which material was the most waterproof. We have been resourceful thinkers and great team workers throughout our Science topic!
Oh we do like to be beside the seaside! Year 2 have been developing their colour mixing skills and exploring with a range of media to create their very own seascape pictures. We now have them proudly on display in the classroom!

Year 2 have been learning all about the properties of 2D shapes. We are able to describe the number of sides and vertices of each one and identify lines of symmetry. Some of us have even been able to compare similarities and differences of 2D shapes!
