    We had a wonderful time exploring Ancient Egypt today with Rob from Theatre Workshop who used history and drama to teach us all about the Nile, mummification, Egyptian people and animals, Howard Carter and more!     We practised rounding by hosting our own rodeo. We rounded numbered ‘pigs’ to the nearest 10, numbered ‘snakes’ to the nearest 10,000 and gained our rounding sheriff badge.

    Today we went into outer space. We planned an experiment and created a chemical reaction. Our rockets shot us into space. We then explored the order and features of the different planets. We even used loo roll to measure how far from the sun each planet is.

    We looked at how the Earth is formed and how tectonic plates create volcanos, mountains and earthquakes. We can name the different layers of the Earth and have made a model of the Earth.

    Video Editing

    In Year 5 this week, we have learned how to film a video using green screen. We then edited those videos on the green screen app and then edited them further on iMovie. Our clips are all about Jane Goodall and the work that she does to support chimpanzees. We hope you enjoy!
